Jean Michel at DSNS art
I am Jean Michel, a Brazilian graphic artist and illustrator with 18 years of experience creating high-quality graphic projects. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with many renowned artists, including Metal Church, Todd La Torre (Queensrÿche), John Corabi (ex-Mötley Crüe, The Dead Daisies, Union, ESP, Ratt, The Scream e outros), Lynch Mob, Vixen, Michael Sweet (Stryper), George Lynch (Dokken, Lynch Mob), Todd Michael Hall (Riot V), Michael Angelo Batio, KXM (supergrupo de músicos do Lynch Mob, King’s X e Korn), Projected (Supergroup of musicians from Alter Bridge, Sevendust, Tremonti, and Creed), Bob Marley, Roxanne, Beasto Blanco, Ty Tabor (King’s X), dUg Pinnick (King’s X), Keep of Kalessin, Radioactive and many others, creating album covers, graphic projects and amazing illustrations.
My artwork have been recognized through various “best of the year” lists promoted by magazines and websites specialized in rock and metal. Additionally, I have also been featured in the English magazine Photoshop Creative, which covers the features of the software Photoshop.
As a versatile artist, my work extends beyond the music industry, which caught the attention of a giant in the entertainment industry like Netflix, where I was chosen to represent Brazil by creating an exclusive illustration for the film “El Camino,” demonstrating my ability to adapt to different styles and projects.
With my extensive experience in illustration, graphic design, art for CD, DVD, vinyl covers, book covers, brochures, film posters, logos, prints, promotional photos, and other items, my art is present in various countries including Brazil, the US, England, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Australia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Ireland, Colombia, Mexico, and Cyprus, among others. I am always attuned to advertising trends and always creating something new and innovative, whether for large companies or personal projects.
My style has been built since my childhood, with a passion for comics and the first sketches of characters from Marvel and DC. Passionate about art, I love the aesthetic of old posters, comics, cinema, series, books, games, pop culture in general, classical art and contemporary art. Making a mixture of the Surrealist schools that have as its main name Salvador Dali, Grotesco, Pop Art and in addition to Science Fiction, I began to shape my creativity and versatility, combining techniques from Comics style, traditional illustrations, photo collage and even 3D to create unique pieces.
For the creation of art, we have a rich world of inspirations, sometimes even by walking around the city, at the shopping mall, looking at typographies, art and various situations becomes an inspirational source. All this baggage makes it easier to approach and also develop the artistic piece in the best possible way within the characteristics that each project demands.
In the end, I love experimentation and navigating through various schools, movements, and aesthetic categories!!
