This is the complete artwork I created for "Volume 1", the solo album by Queensrÿche founding guitarist Michael “Whip” Wilton. For this release, I designed the full visual identity and packaging across all formats, including CD, Vinyl, Cassette, and digital platforms.
Released in 2024, Volume 1 introduced nine brand-new songs featuring Wilton alongside vocalist Mark Winterman, drummer Sonny Sudra, and bassist Hodgy. The record captured the essence of the sound Michael is best known for, blending heavy riffs, melodic hooks, and thoughtful solos. Mixed and mastered by renowned producer Chris “Zeuss” Harris (Queensrÿche, Rob Zombie, Shadows Fall), the album delivered a powerful yet modern interpretation of Wilton’s signature style.
From the opening track “People Suffer” to the closing “Drowning at Daybreak”, Volume 1 showcased Wilton’s ability to honor his roots while exploring new creative directions.
This MICHAEL “WHIP” WILTON "VOLUME 1" album was released in CD, Vinyl, Cassette, and digital platform versions. All artwork and packaging design created by Jean Michel at DSNS Art.
